MST Announces First Center of Excellence for AutoLap in Germany

February 7, 2017

MST Medical Surgery Technologies has announced the first center of excellence in Germany for the AutoLap™ system, at Kreiskrankenhaus des Vogelsbergkreises in Alsfeld. This CoE has been established as part of MST’s post-marketing clinical activities across Germany at selected public and private hospitals.

The new CoE is performing procedures with AutoLap in the Kreiskrankenhaus Alsfeld Department of General and Visceral Surgery, headed by Dr. Steffen Lancee. Over the coming months, the AutoLap system will be used in a range of procedures in the department, a process that is expected to spur MST’s expansion throughout the German market.

Dr. Lancee commented: “At the Kreiskrankenhaus Alsfeld Department of General and Visceral Surgery we are highlighting our advanced surgical techniques and robotics platform. So we welcomed the opportunity to set up a Center of Excellence with the AutoLap system and the MST team. After using the system in the first few cases, we already saw – and experienced – its advantages, notably a more stable image, more comfortable standing in the sterile field, ease of use and even simple storage. I believe our patients are also benefiting from the more efficient and reduced stress in the operative procedure.”

“For MST, offering a robotic program and economic and operational benefits to surgical facilities is key to our market growth. With implementation of the AutoLap system for laparoscopic procedures, we look forward to facilitating more efficient surgical workflow in the OR, optimized staffing, improved procedure scheduling and improved physical work conditions for the staff,” noted MST CEO Motti Frimer. “Setting up our first center of excellence in Germany at Alsfeld Kreiskrankenhaus is an exciting development for MST and attests to the facility’s advanced approach to surgical techniques and its highly experienced team.”

This is the third CoE for AutoLap, following those in the US and the Netherlands.
