AutoLap interacts with the surgeon’s movements in the surgical cavity, guiding the robotic laparoscope positioner in real time. The system offers the surgeon full and natural control of the surgical procedure and an optimal field of view.
AutoLap takes the laparoscope out of the human hands of surgeon’s assistants and nurses. The system seamlessly controls the laparoscope’s movement with the surgeon’s full control, reducing cognitive load and distraction. Surgeries can be performed more efficiently by allowing the surgeon to maintain full attention on the patient and task at hand.
The surgeon can choose from different modes for interaction with the robotic system. Smart system features include automatic zoom correction, camera horizon correction and tissue collision warning.
Economically, AutoLap is a cost-effective surgical robotics system. It does not require extensive training and easily integrates with existing surgical tools, imaging systems and OR equipment. Bed-mounted and compact, AutoLap is easy to set up, transport and store between procedures.
The AutoLap system is currently indicated for general laparoscopic, gynecologic and urologic procedures with standard laparoscopes or rigid endoscopes.
